COMMENTS

Another Mario Party with the same basic formula that's beginning to wear a little thin. There should have been some innovation in this version. There are 8 characters to choose from, 6 boards and loads of mini-games. The graphics are average. The sound is average. The gameplay isn't bad but can get repetetive. The boards rely too much on luck and aren't very interesting. There are too many button-tapping mini-games. Most of the mini-games are interesting and fun. The different gameplay modes add a little. The single player mode is okay but it gets boring because you have to complete the 6 boards 8 times and the only thing you get are some miniature items for your miniature house which serve no purpose. The multiplayer mode will be the most used by far. This is a multiplayer game. A welcome mode features single players mini-games and some basic boards. Overall I was expecting more for Mario Party's first outing on the Gamecube. If you liked the other Mario Parties then you will like this.
