Luigi's Mansion is one of those games that's fun to play once through but it wouldn't be a classic. However I think its underrated. It featured a relatively original concept. The gameplay is simple and addictive. The controls aren't tricky. The graphics were really good for a launch title. The "ghost" effective was impressive. The audio side wasn't bad either. It was entertaining hearing Luigi scream for Mario. Luigi's Mansion isn't a very long game. It is slightly lengthened by the "Hidden Mansion" mode once you beat the game once, however its not very different from the original mode. This should just be rented because there are better games out now but then again it is a Player's Choice game.
